Berserker's Lament

5 December 2009 · set down by Kyphis

I was commissioned for this song for Burns' "Are You Afraid of Vampires?" quest, and this is what he has to say on it: "A song based on the dim fate of the Berserkers who turned into Tormented souls in the Necrovion Graveyard, who, instead of becoming Barren Souls and powerful healers, use their terrible force not to protect others, but only for themselves and for destruction."

To our land The Shadow comes Not with Fire Nor with drums Yet in the land Of wisest Sage The Shadow roars And spreads its rage

Ever onwards, Shadow crawl Ever louder, The battle call

At the heart Of all the land Berserkers fought And made their stand Many fell From sides of each But victory Lay far from reach

Ever onwards, Shadow crawl Ever louder, The battle call

In the Shadow Berserkers wait Tortured ever, Denied the gate But the land Still tells their story In its tears Of Death and Glory
