Muratus Lecture II: Transposition

10 December 2008 · set down by Tarquinus Superbus

So, somehow you managed to lure me into holding an ad hoc lecture on Time. [smile] Now I got used to it and I will hold another one. At DarkPriestess’ suggestion, I will talk about the principles, one of them for today: Transposition and its possible uses.

Transposition is probably one of the easiest [principles] to find a use for. To talk about transposition, we must talk about things that can be transposed first. The use of transposition goes from magic to social situations or even war. None of the principles are limited to just one thing ...that’s why they are principles ...because they cover everything.

The magic use is probably the easiest and most fun to explain. Transposition: the definition is public on the site, [so] I won’t go into that. The uses...

<Question: will transposition be used in the lines of teleportation spells?>
That can be used, but remember lectures are not about game issues.

The most safe way on my side is to keep principles generally valid and not associate them with something, especially not with magic, because magic can be interpreted in wrong ways. The word itself, 'magic', causes unwanted discussions. But the fun part is when it comes to uses and the most fun uses are related to magic, and I will hold one day a lecture about what magic is because most of you don’t know...and if you think it’s hocus pocus, you just shut up and listen because you could not be more wrong.

The worst thing that happened to magic over the centuries was religion. [frown] But that’s another topic.

Back to transposition pick one, good or evil uses?

<General request for ‘evil’>
Well, there is not much difference, but if I will speak about curses, won’t that be called speaking about evil? Since you want so much to speak about evil, I will speak about good, [that] will temper you a bit. Magic is not a thing to play with, and evil magic is not something to consider fun to do.

Balance let’s do a mixture. Transposition and Balance would be fun. So ...good spell, transposition and balance ...any result?

Wait, I feel I missed something important, what means the transposition principle in use? Living beings, (as well as objects but more) have a signature. That signature is sort of a fingerprint of that thing in the world surrounding it.

<Question: do you mean their true name?>
No. For example, if someone sat recently on a chair, the warmth that is coming from that place has its signature embedded in it.

First, anyone here that does not understand what I mean by signature?

<Question: do you speak of residual energies?>
I speak about energy signatures: personal touch, aura, call it how you want. The signature I speak about is not the energy itself, [but] what that energy leaves behind.

<Question: the things that we interact with most bear our signature, our energy so to speak... correct?>
Yes <Question: would the impact of an asteroid on the earth be considered a sort of signature?>
No, I am not talking about asteroids. That’s not a signature; that’s a scar.

It’s important to have the same language here, and I am building that now. Signature was an important notion to understand when talking about transposition. So, each thing has its own signature, next... When something happens to something alive, the signature changes to reflect that.

<Question: can you define "thing"?>
[A] thing is both living and dead; [the] dead keep signature regardless of what happens, [and the] living have a signature that you can interact with.

<Question: The signatures that have been already placed do not change?>
They don’t change; they just fade in time, but that’s not the point here.

Resuming, so, living things have a signature that is changing based on what’s going on with that being.

playernames when someone passed an area?>
Yeah. [smile]

This signature can be CHANGED by forces outside the body generating it. Energy signatures can be forged, [or] artificially created.

Here comes Transposition.

One of the most known uses of transposition is voodoo. Another one is healing. But you will be surprised how many things are based on Transposition. It goes from perception to altering the surrounding world.

So, any particular branch of this discussion you want me to follow?

<Question: Will principles have positive or negative influences on others! For example using Transposition in an evil way will then have an effect on Balance?>
Good or evil concepts have nothing to do with the principles.

<Question: is the principle of transposition still valid for big, world-wide let's say, alterations?>
Yes. It actually is valid for anything.

I will elaborate _one_ practical use of Transposition, magic-related, since this is not a training course on magic but a discussion about Transposition. So I give you some options to pick from: healing by balance, healing shaman-style, cursing objects, cursing people, voodoo dolls, other? These are basic. I could speak about very advanced ones but I doubt you will follow me. Or better, you suggest something, and I see how Transposition could be used on that.

<Communication with the dead is mentioned>
Ok, good subject. Communicating with the dead. Surprisingly, [my] first reaction is to say it has nothing to do with Transposition, and if you asked that you probably have no clue of what Transposition is good for, but - there is a connection, or a way to do that using Transposition. And it’s more advanced than voodoo dolls. [makes a face]

Wait: I am thinking of a way to put this more easily: there is sort of an exploit in nature. [big smile] The same signature can’t be associated with two distinct beings. And when created artificially, this happens. That’s why voodoo dolls work, [and] that’s how [the] dead can be summoned, partially. Recreating the person’s signature into an object is voodoo; the object becomes related to that person. BUT using Transposition to recreate a signature inside a human can be used for a direct connection to that person. In [the] case of dead people, their signatures still hold a lot of information about them, and the virtual speaking to the dead is actually the person speaking that induces that signature into himself. The behavior change, the information, is the one of the dead person. Note that I do not speak about the connection with the dead person.

<Question: possession, then?>
A sort of self-induced possession, yes.

Summoning the dead, voodoo dolls, and spying on others (eagle eye) are basically the same technique, just used on different things! That is: objects, dead things, living things.

You understand what i am talking about? Questions?

<Question: Can Transposition be used for telekinesis or telepathy?>
Telepathy in the most brutal way...by possession. Telekinesis only by means of teleportation. Both things aralmost out of reach of Transposition.

<Question about Ouija boards>
This is not a "how to" on magic tricks. I will only teach magic theory, and I don’t encourage you to do foolish experiments with such things. Magic is a path in life, not a nice trick to try; therefore I will keep it as that.

<Question: So you do magic?>
We all do, [it’s] just that some realize it and some don’t.

[Ouija boards], like many other things, *water detectors, pendulums, etc* are ways to overcome our personal inhibitions. It’s sort of like the difference between hand and mind magic.

<Question: wouldn't hand and mind magic work together?>
Hand/mind …some need tools to do magic, some don’t ...but enough on that subject.

<Question: you said that everything has a signature... does this signature evolve with time?>
Of course. It’s always changing. So are we. And the opposite is also true …when [the] signature changes, so do we.

<Question: can a signature suddenly change?>
Yes ...same way like you could kill someone suddenly by magic. [laughs]
