War 1: Golemus Golemicarum and Loreroot versus Necrovion
The first war ever in MagicDuel was a war between three lands.
Golemus Golemicarum and its war ally of Loreroot were at war with Necrovion. It was the first and longest war in the short span of MD’s life and it had two titanic legends face one another.
One was a fierce warrior, a hero to many, whose martial prowess was legendary and unmatched during his day. He was one of the first to enter the realm and was indeed the first to grow to such power, that others cowered in his presence.
The other was a great man, who was considered to be greater than a hero, perhaps even a god to some. While a newbie and outcast at first, and an enigma to some, he soon grew into his role and claimed power by charm and knowledge. Where he went, others quickly followed.
Where the first swore by the might of the sword,
The other held true to the magic of the word.
The first was Wodin Ullr, the leader of the Guerrilla Golemicarum alliance, the other was Khalazdad, the leader of Necrovion’s Sentinels alliance.
The possibility of this war stemmed from two different events. The first was in year 3, day 90. It was the day that the Knator Commander appeared in the realm; the Era of the RPC has begun.
The second event was in Year 3, day 121. It was the day that the Adventure Log started. A hero was wanted: BigC would be that hero.
The origin of this war however, came from a single choice that had irrevocable repercussions and unforeseen consequences.
Just two days after the Adventure Log had begun, the hero that was wanted was approached by the by then-unknown shades of Necrovion.

Shades have picked *BigC* to go on a mission in Golemus Golemicarum and stop the wizard from messing around with the dream world. However the first meeting didn’t go so well, BigC is not sure whether to help the shades or just kill them…
The wrath of the shades is shown as they capture BigC and imprison him in Necrovion.
But the wizard was now aware of the shades, and he was preparing. The shades were preparing, as well, and had sent an assassin.

Still glowing, Wodin Ullr steps out of the morphing light. He looks at the dead wizard and at his killer and speaks to him: “Thank you; two souls were given to summon mine, from one I master the spirit and from one the body, now it’s time to raise an army! ” He steps outside the room and starts walking towards No Man’s Land. Omegaweapon looks at him confused, realizing that this was part of the wizard’s plan. “What have I done!”
The die had been cast, as the wizard had summoned Wodin Ullr, a mighty warrior without equal. He founded the first alliance of Golemus Golemicarum.
And in relative quick succession, new developments and events and their consequences rippled through the lands.
RPCs and their self-made quests, along with the newly introduced wishpoints, grew in stature, respect, and eventually, in power. They, in turn, attracted friends, and allies made pacts.
But Wodin Ullr had come and soon the interaction between GG and Necrovion turned more hostile by the day.
Attempts to prolong peace were present. Some tried to think about the shades’ nature and if perhaps war would be the wrong path to choose. Others said that the shades were powerless to begin with, and that if one could keep peace with the Necrovion Sentinels, the human servants to the shades, that peace could be kept.
But as loyal and strong as Wodin was, he was just as fierce and zealous,. And he could not ignore the cries for the freedom of BigC.
Khalazdad, himself, was an honorable man and would not budge from his masters, nor would he abandon his new-found family and valued friends.
The choices of the past were irrevocable. Alliances were made. The path was set.
War was inevitable.
At first there were a lot of border skirmishes and great animosity between the lands. But most people were still growing and learning. For instance, the current reigning monarch of Loreroot, King Firsanthalas, was send by Nelya Setesh to Golemus, to negotiate a treaty of non-aggression.
Most people who are grizzled veterans now, were newbies who joined barely before the war started, or even during the war.
After the treaty between Loreroot and Golemus, the situation started to slowly heat up. Khalazdad gained entrance into Necrovion for the first time. The master spy Glaistig infiltrated the Loreroot Alliance while in the service of Khalazdad
In times of fear, excitement, confusion, and constant border skirmishes, along with intricate espionage missions, war was officially declared. In the first few offenses, Loreroot quickly joined the side of Golemus against Necrovion.

Khal enters the House of Liquid Dust, which is the date on which war was officially declared.
But many other developments had happened, as well. An angien was found in an egg by the new Seekers of Enlightenment alliance. Also, a masterful plot, prophesied by the messenger, eventually bore fruit as Dst, with the help of No One, successfully managed a coup on each and every alliance, creating massive confusion and chaos.
Amidst the chaos, the fear, the bewilderment, however, one theory was eventually proven to be correct. It had started innocently, with Wodin taking some free time. Even heroes needed rest. But soon enough, days of absence, turned into weeks. And soon it was official, after weeks of domestic disturbances and chaos inside the GG alliance, Wodin had left and the first triumvirate of the Golemus alliance assumed leadership. After Wodin left, the fighting spirit and power of Loreroot and especially Golemus died down. As a consequence, the shades themselves became weaker. Proving, for now, the theory that Necrovion acted like a mirror to the rest of MD. As GG and Loreroot grew weaker and became weary from months of hostilities, so, too, did the shades of Necrovion back down and weaken.
Before Wodin had left, GG was centralized around its leader, Wodin Ullr.
The Necrovion alliance was ruled in a similar way, with Khalazdad as its leader.
In Loreroot the primary figurehead of Loreroot was Nelya Setesh. But there was also a council that had a large influence, as well, along with Knator Commander, who occasionally gave advice.
Many new developments came after the disappearance of Wodin Ullr. The first Triumvirate of GG, consisting of Yrthilian, Savelfuser, and Metal Bunny, split up. Savelfuser dedicated himself to the new demi-god status of mp6, and to the protection and caring of Loreroot through his new church.
Metal Bunny dedicated himself to mp6 and concentrated more on being a better RPC, as well. As a result, he only gave advice to Yrthilian, who remained as the lone leader of the GG alliance. He managed to summon Wodin back to the lands of MD again, but he was not the same as he used to be. He had weakened, was confused and never rose to glory again.
Yrthilian however, signed a peace treaty with Necrovion and ended the war on the side of Golemus.
Peace had come and many things had changed, for better or worse.
While it is quite a certainty that the shades would’ve fought the experimenting wizard regardless of BigC’s choice to help them or not, it was the choice of the shades for asking a hero to help, that had brought war to the lands and inhabitants of MD for the first time. Before the war there were many events and legendary ‘firsts,’ even some fundamental ‘firsts,’ such as the first Adventure Log, that eventually lead up to the war. During the uneasy and shaky peace, filled with border skirmishes, and during the war itself, many things had happened as well.
But there were many events that were not related to the war itself. It could perhaps just be the Maker, continuing on his way, growing MD, unconcerned with the physical realm. RPCs arrived, wishpoints, too. New creatures were revealed, new ways to fight and new spells that belonged to the new caste of mp6.
Newbies arrived that grew to legends and faded away again, but not before they had influenced the realm and left their mark, while others stayed and kept growing.
The first war had left an impact on many and regardless of the ongoing growth of the world; things would never be the same again. Including the hostile situation before the official act of declaring war, the conflict had lasted months and dominated the events of Year 3.
