I guess this is the part where I bore you to death with an incredibly long and pointless speech *unwraps a big scroll with writing on both sides*
First of all, I would like to say this is a wonderful surprise.
This MagicDuel award is the one I least expected to win, so thank you all who voted for me, taking the time to read the stories for this award, and thank you all for being part of that story, a story called MagicDuel. Each one of you is my inspiration and the inspiration for others. Thank you all for being here tonight. And to quote somebody: *The story must go on.* Thank you *smiles*
[The category and image for this award are currently lost. If anyone knows which award this was for or where a copy of its image can be obtained, please contact a site administrator.]
Grido
*smiles* and now my speech....
hmm
Now I really should've prepared a speech, but I didn't.
But thank you all who voted for me.

I must admit: this is the only award I wanted. And it was probably the toughest to win since I had such great rivals. Every single one of them deserved this award. They are all good fighters. They all know that stats are not everything. They all know that fighting also mean strategy, not just brute force. So thank you for giving me the motivation to want to be better, to want to be stronger and wiser. And since I cannot help myself I will say it: you were beaten by a girl :P. Yay! :D Thank you guys :)
MasterB
*MasterB* goes to the book in the center. *MasterB* clears voice.
First of all I, would like to apologize for anything I say wrong! But I'm a little drunk!
Second of all, at the risk of sounding selfish, I can say it was indeed a lot of hard work and sleepless nights :)
I would like to thank all of you that supported me during this year to become a Live Help Operator.

Pamplemousse
Pamplemousse approaches the podium nervously.
My papers, or scrapbooks, as I like to call them, are very special to me. The document is a part that not many people see. To have that appreciated and considered to be "the best" is like having a secret part of your soul praised.
I'd like to thank Ivorak for helping and inspiring me.
And I'd like to thank Keith Moon for allowing me to put his incredible poems in my scrap book, they are certainly standouts and very important to me.
Thank you all so very much!
Pamplemousse sits back down, her cheeks flushed.

Zleiphneir (On Amoran K Kol's PL):
"Likes flicking paper at my head, like a little boy that secretly wants to hold a little girl's hand some might say. I, of course, would never say such a thing."
Amoran K Kol flicks five paper balls at Z's head, grinning. Zleiphneir gets a paper ball in the eye and curses.
Thank you for finding me amusing. I appreciate it.
*scratches his chin* and, yes, thank you for throwing paper at me... I think...
Zleiphneir nods.

Pamplemousse
Pamplemousse stands and approaches the podium again.
Thanks to everyone who voted for me for Best Protector! I assure you it was my pleasure to look after all of you. Some of you didn't need my help at all, and, in fact, taught me a great deal. Thanks to all the loyal and dedicated members of Team Citrus.
I hope I have meant as much to you as you all have to me.
Thank you, again; I am truly honored.
Pamplemousse quickly sits back down.

Cutler (Astral Plane)
I want to thank everyone who voted for me. It is great to be appreciated.
The Astral Plane was my most recent big idea for a quest and being able to make fully scripted clickables anywhere in MD for any quest chain really opens up many new possibilities.
The two quests in Necro were just a start with people entering the astral plane over 2000 times already. As of today, the astral plane has been explored into Loreroot, Marind Bell, No Man's Land, Golemus, and Necro.
After this awards ceremony, the astral gates into Loreroot, GG and Necro will be open for everyone to go explore what is there. There is one new GG astral plane quest by Indyra Sirenias, which is now open, and at least three other astral plane quests are under work by different people for the near future.
Oh yeah, and you can now enter the astral plane at the non-talking rock in the Gazebo of Equilibrium, the Lighthouse in GG, and here, in the Sage's Keep by clicking the crack in the wall.
Thank you for this award. I do appreciate the honor.

Whats can I say? I did it! Yay! Again! Yay! *Starts dancing around.* I must thank all my fans out there. I know you love me! NOT :D. Now let's be serious: I didn't plan to win the Best Quester Award. It all started with the first serious quest which had as prize of a drachorn. I solved it. And I won a drach. From there, things evolved. I found myself trying almost all quests in MD. At one point, I was busier with solving puzzles and other mysteries then actually playing.
But then I changed. I started to be more picky. I started to solve quests that I liked. Or the ones that seemed challenging enough. I had a great time solving most of them. It was great to actually crack the code or find the right password. It brought me joy and satisfaction. And for that I must thank all quest creators (for better or worse) and also to all my competitors. It's fun to compete against smart players. It's fun to compete against human minds and not against some artificial intelligence. Thank you!

Thomas the Titan
*shakes his head.* I am not one for speeches. All I have to say is thank you, for everything, of course. I would, however, especially like to thank those who were on the nominations for Role Player. They are all the ones who influenced me the most when I first came here.

Shadowseeker
I am the most surprised out of all, really. As for my speech, let it be a short one.
A spell means that you can change something temporarily. But in the end, it is a tool. A tool has its uses and the times to be used, only then does it become useful. I hope the future spellcasters will remember this, for this is one important aspect of them.
And, again, thank you everyone for voting for me.

Cutler
I have long wanted there to be many more interactive puzzles in MagicDuel for people to play.
So I made the 12 games in my Puzzle Arcade Quest. Each of these require people to use logic and, with the addition of the MDscripting, it was possible to make them completely part of the landscape of MD.
I want to thank Mur for adding the ability to make quests fully scripted and integrated into MD.
Granos
As per tradition, it is appropriate to thank the masses for such an award, but that is merely convention, which is often not something I heed and will continue to do so here. I see the award and take it as weight, that I must now drag along with me, inhibiting any progress I have made. So I suppose I thank you all for your own parasitic ways, for you have made me what I am as well as impeded me in the same method.

Grido
Zleiphneir: Dance!
Grido: Speech first, then dancing
Zleiphneir: Traditionalist.
Ok, as before, I haven't written anything. Grido dances throughout the speech to be unconventional.
So I am very happy and proud to receive *pants*
Your votes for being the Most Addicted *pants*
And that you've finally all realized *pants*
That I am always here *pants*
And can't seem to ever leave...
Grido collapses
I... I shouldn't have tried that...
*wipes his brow*

Khalazdad (Award received by Peace)
Grido: Since Khalazdad is not here to speak for himself, the one who is the next in line, and no other than his own daughter, Peace, will speak on his behalf.
Peace nods to Grido and moves to the book in the middle. Peace: Like Grido pointed out to you, Khalazdad was not able to attend, thus I will speak on his behalf. It is not fitting for Khalazdad to arise from the sand at this time.
He did wish for me to tell you, though, that your admiration is a warmth that comforts him; it is a reference point, a shining star in the black night of the Alam Al Mithal. He also asked me to say that now is the time to revere the living, not those who have passed on. As his daughter, I would like to thank you all for remembering him. It brings me joy to know that his memory lives on and that he is not forgotten.
And remember, give your water to the living and not to the dead. *curtsies and moves back to her seat.*

Chewett
An interesting award because some people who have done a lot of work for MagicDuel are relatively unheard of. That is why I could easily name others who deserve this award, but I was told to write a nice speech.
But I thank everyone who voted for me and who, perhaps foolishly, thinks I do outstanding work for MD.

Observer
Wait? I get to give my speech after all? :D
Seeing as short speeches are the fashion, I'll keep this short.
I'd like to thank all those who voted for me. And Mur for the Festival of Pain, without which I wouldn't have nearly the amount of drachorns I have today.
[It should be noted that the player of the character who won this award was not a Rookie when this was awarded; he had been playing the game for quite some time, though this was unknown to most people who were playing MagicDuel during the voting. Since this revelation, the Rookie award has been awarded to new players--new people who have been in the game for less than a year--not new characters created by veteran players.]
Chewett
Having the second highest Active days in the game means I definitely qualify as a vet. But, again, I disagree with being the Vet of the Year. I have hardly done anything, nor am I really playing MagicDuel very much currently.
I thank you for voting for me, but for next year, vote for a veteran that you see around the game.
