Katar (Bundi Dagger)
The Katar, also known as a Bundi dagger,
is a type of short punching sword used in India for
swift and quick attacks. Its horizontal hand grip,
is in the blade of the sword sitting
above the user’s knuckles.
Katars were used in close range hand-to-hand combat,
which is effective in armor-piercing. The blade was often
folded or corrugated for additional strength.
Th uniqueness of the Katar is that you have to punch
instate of thrusting and that leads to much more
different fighting styles. It is more an extension of
the fist than a dagger.
